Initially funded by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), Area Health Education Centers (AHECs) are academic and community partnerships that address healthcare workforce issues.
We introduce students to healthcare career opportunities, establish community-based training sites for students in service-learning and clinical capacities, provide continuing education programs for health care professionals, and evaluate the needs of underserved communities in South Central Alaska.
