JAMHI Health & Wellness is a nimble, vibrant, longstanding non-profit community behavioral health center in our temperate rainforest home of Juneau Alaska. Founded as a grassroots community housing provider for adults with severe mental illness over 30 years ago, JAMHI has grown and developed through planning and strong community collaborations ever since. Founded as JAMI (Juneau Alliance for Mental Illness), the organization was later named JAMHI (Juneau Alliance for Mental Health, Inc.) as it became it grew to provide a more comprehensive range specialty mental health and co-occurring disorder treatment and support services. Today JAMHI Health & Wellness is a comprehensive whole-person healthcare provider, pursuing its mission of helping people live their own best lives aligned with SAMHSA Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) standards and HRSA Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) Look-Alike requirements. All of JAMHI’s various service lines are documented in a single integrated electronic record system; all services are offered on sliding fee scales based on people’s individually-assessed ability to pay; all direct service lines are accredited by CARF International. Our workforce is a competent, diverse, passionate team; our most valued resource in the provision of demonstrably high quality, person-centered services. In recent years JAMHI has nearly doubled its workforce size to about 80; the number of people we serve has nearly tripled to almost 1500 annually.
